Senior Social Media Strategist

Position Summary

The Senior Social Media Strategist is a strategic and hands-on role responsible for planning, executing, and optimising social media efforts with a strong B2B focus. You will both lead strategy and get into the tactical weeds such as copy, engagement, content deployment with the expectation of driving measurable business outcomes. LinkedIn is non-negotiable; experience across Meta platforms, TikTok, Reddit (or other relevant B2B / niche platforms) is required. You will also leverage tools like Metricool and AI to streamline content creation, improve targeting, and produce better results.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and own social media strategy for B2B client campaigns: content themes, platform mix, paid vs organic, audience targeting.
  • Manage and deploy social content calendars: plan, write, approve, publish, and monitor posts.
  • Engage with audiences: monitor comments, messages, follows, likes; respond or escalate appropriately to foster community and brand trust.
  • Execute social media campaigns: organic and paid, including brief for creative, budget oversight, testing, targeting, optimization.
  • Use Metricool (and any other tools we adopt) for scheduling, performance tracking, benchmarking, and reporting.
  • Create and/or collaborate on copywriting for social posts, captions, headline writing, etc.; ensure voice/tone consistency across platforms.
  • Collaborate with designers, content/writers, strategists, and client/account teams to ensure visuals, messaging, and creative execution align with strategy.
  • Use AI tools where appropriate for ideation, content generation, optimization, or scaling work while keeping high quality and brand alignment.
  • Analyze performance metrics (reach, engagement, conversion, lead gen, impressions, etc.), derive insights, and iterate strategy.
  • Monitor social media trends, algorithm changes, platform feature updates; recommend innovations or pivots.
  • Ensure content meets best practices — format, size, frequency, platform requirements, accessibility.
  • Track budget, resource use, content production timelines; ensure deliverables are on time, on brand, and meet quality standards.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in social media strategy / social media marketing, ideally with a strong B2B component.
  • Demonstrated success in growing B2B social presence (especially LinkedIn), as well as Meta (Facebook/Instagram), TikTok, Reddit or other community-platforms.
  • Strong copywriting skills: writing for different voices, platforms, campaign types.
  • Experience with tools: Metricool (or equivalent), social media scheduling and analytics tools, dashboard/reporting tools.
  • Comfort using or piloting AI tools for social content generation or optimization.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) is a plus. Ability to brief/coordinate visuals.
  • Analytical mindset: able to read data, derive insight, and adapt strategy.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; ability to present strategy and results to internal stakeholders or clients.
  • Strong project/time management skills, ability to juggle multiple clients / campaigns.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Job Leveling Statement

This is a senior-level staff position. The person in this role will lead our social media efforts for B2B clients, act as a bridge between content, design, strategy and account teams, and be expected to independently manage strategy + execution across multiple platforms.

Decision-Making Authority

  • Authority to define platform strategy, content mix, posting frequency, and paid vs. organic balance for assigned clients.
  • Authority to approve social copy (captions / posts) and deployment schedules.
  • Authority to recommend tools or process changes related to social media.
  • Escalates: major budget decisions, platform shifts, or strategic pivots to the Marketing Lead.

Performance Expectations (Internal-Facing)

  • Growth metrics: LinkedIn followers / engagement, reach & impressions, conversion or lead generation from social channels.
  • Content calendar adherence: delivery of content on schedule, consistency across platforms.
  • Quality metrics: copy quality, brand consistency, engagement, sentiment.
  • ROI of paid social campaigns (if applicable).
  • Efficiency & use of tools / automation (Metricool, AI) to scale quality.
  • Lessons-learned: documenting what works/doesn’t and sharing with the team.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

  • Full-time, exempt. Approximately 40 hours/week with flexibility for campaign peaks.
  • Hybrid work environment (office + remote collaboration).
  • Frequent use of computer, scheduling tools, dashboards, content tools; potential for occasional extended hours.
